Das Bild, das ich mir von meinen Eltern mache, stammt im Grund aus meiner Jugendzeit. Und bis heute habe ich noch nie versucht, dieses Bild einer ehrlichen Prüfung zu unterziehen. "Vaters Garten" ist der Versuch einer persönlichen Geschichtsrevision. Kein Portrait meiner Eltern, sondern die filmische Verdichtung eines Lebensgefühls - stellvertretend für das Lebensgefühl einer ganzen Epoche, deren Ende längst eingeläutet wurde. |
